David Sykes, QLA Director
David is QLA Director responsible for overseeing quality assurance and curriculum. David’s work as an independent consultant to the further education sector, supporting quality improvement and the establishing of new curriculum as well as him retaining his H.M.I. role in a part-time capacity, enables him to support The Skills Network’s commitment to ensuring that we remain in touch with the very latest developments in the sector.
Mike Berry, Quality Improvement specialist
With over 30 years experience within the learning and skills sector, Mike began his career as Head of Construction and Engineering at a large FE College. He has been employed as an HMI with Ofsted, Director of Learning, Assistant Principal, and EAD of department in several FE colleges.
During his time with Ofsted, Mike led inspections across most learning and skills remits including large colleges, sixth form colleges and national work-based learning providers.
Sam Kelly, Studio Schools specialist
A senior professional with substantial organisational restructuring and change expertise, Sam has worked within public enterprises and voluntary and community settings such as health, youth and community, colleges, local authorities and schools.
A recognised and accomplished leader with extensive influencing, coaching and mentoring expertise, he has a broad range of experience in training, children’s services, integrated working, Building Schools for the Future, Studio Schools and Academies. Sam provides strategic support in order to achieve logevity and success of a project.
